Robomagellan is a great competition. I like your robot, what sensors did you use to detect the cone? I'm building my own robo-magellan robot out of the MINDS-i pieces, you should check out the MINDS-i channel to see what you think of the MINDS-i system.

Yeah cause im sure if he was controlling it it wouldn't be obvious and they'd still let him compete asswipe. Wow people and their lame assumptions.

I'm "that guy" - it's definitely autonomous. The contest rules require a fail-safe kill-switch that will disable the robot when the operator lets go of it (a button on the robot isn't sufficient), so that's what I'm holding. We never got around to implementing a more elegant wireless solution...

Strange kill swith - red pushbutton on the top of the robot seems enough for emergency purpose isn´t it?

first one isn't autonomous. It's very clearly being controlled by that guy. Autonomous means without human input, at all. Completely independent, using its own brain. still a cool bot though.
I was there, that is just a kill switch, it's not a remote control. This robot was totally autonomous.

Not if it's going too fast, you wouldn't be able to reach the switch. You need it in your hand at all times, that's the rules. Most are wireless, but some had wired kill switches.
