Journalist and broadcaster Peter Snow visits Dover Castle, a mighty fortress with over 800 years service in defence of the realm. Peter examines the key moments in the Castle's history, including the siege of 1216 when Britain was under threat from a French invasion, and Operation Dynamo in 1940 when it became a nerve centre for the biggest rescue operation in British history.

  • Full Sail's Art History Course sent me here.

  • @LukeMoroney I appreciate that Dover is much smaller than many of us think but I think it is the sort of place I could live in!

  • The way the castle dominates the town affords wonderful views of it from everywhere! One of my favourite castles!

I am not sure about Peter's claim that it was never conquered. William I took it (although not in its current form) in 1066 after Hastings and the Roundheads took it - admittedly by a trick.

  • As a kid me and my perents went to England and did a tour at Dover Castle and i instantly fell in love with it!

Such an amazing place with an great history. Love it. :)

  • I climbed that building in Assassins Creed Brotherhood.

  • Phil is a legend
