17 months old and 3,5 year old swimming

Amelia 17 mos.old loves to swim and can stay under for about 10 sec., swim to the ladder, to the steps and jump in from sitting on the edge.
Nikolai 3,5 year old, can swim across the pool (30 ft) unaided mostly under water but comes up for breaths.

and then what do you think would happen if by some chance you went to some place with a pool, and they slipped out of your site for just a second. It takes seconds for a baby to sink out of sight.

Babies that are taught to swim and exposed to water learn how to save themselves when they fall in water. Maybe you don't have a lot of pools where you live, but in Australia- it's insane NOT to teach babies to swim. We learn very early here.

@camantonio Yes, this pool is chlorinated, and that's always a problem. It helps to get the children to use goggles when possible, but not always easy. Also we limited our visits to once or twice per week. Now we have our own saltwater system pool, but our season here is pretty short.

@camantonio Olympus Stylus 720sw that we purchase back around 2008. I'm sure they're cheaper and better now.
