h, the coil is running straight off the battery, but without the generator or an alternator, the battery eventually dies. but I use a charger on it when it gets too low.
I can't use that Lucas generator without its regulator anyway. so I'm fitting a modern alternator.

interesting,dont you need the belt to drive the altenater so the spark plugs would work?

@KrankieV2 it did come up after a while but I did have to oil it with a can before startup.
rings are on order now tho, so I should have it back together soon.

its a pretty beat-up old motor, but I was surprised how ballsey it sounds with a short pipe on it!
