@Jaqhama Shalako is also what my Macedonian girlfriend says to me when someone rings the doorbell.
-
Shalako is doubtless a name/term/expression in several languages.
In the case of this movie, based on Louis Lamour's famous novel, Shalako is the name of the Zuni Apache Rain God.
-
who cares what it really is, Shalako is Shalako, period (and incidentally Sean Connery, whitch doesn't hurt) !!
anyway, does anybody know where i could find the lyrics of that song? i'm tired of searching the Internet to no avail
-
what the hell??? Shalako is an Armenian folk dance dudes.

BTW ...I remember reading that Jack Hawkins voice was dubbed in the film, as the actor had lost his voice due to surgery in 1966.

@Soundtrackcollector thankyou for the comments SC...and glad you appreciated this post..............yes poor jack hawkins voice had to be dubbed by the legendary british actor charles gray ......jack hawkins having lost his voice box as a result of surgery to try and deal with the cancer that would eventually kill him in 1973............i remember honour blackman remarking how difficult she had found this film because all hawkins lines were mouthed silently by him
