  • It's a good learning tool, however, I don't think it's a good idea to place your finger above where you stick the needle. In the event that a patient jerk their arm as soon as you put the needle in, chances are your needle will come out and maybe ended up bouncing into your finger. You also seem to be shaking your tube instead of inverting it to mix. I also do agree with jaydedhart comments. You switch your hand and now it is covering the needle. Again it is a recipe for a needle stick injury.

  • Nice video but I have a few questions. Why didn't you anchor the vein, you just jabbed into the skin. Next, we are taught to never switch hands like that, the risk of injury to the patient is extremely high! Also, NEVER EVER walk with a needle, have the sharps container as close to the work station as possible. Good draw but just a few things that were a little off.

  • Exellent learning video! Thank You!!!

  • You can draw my blood anytime. Last year a nurse had to stick me THREE different times. I've NEVER had any problem with blood draws before. I think she wasn't holding the vacutainer steady!! She had another person come by this time & she simply held the tube up so the blood would flow. I'm thinking about getting into this field.

  • Wonderful instructional video. I think you present a good technique to holding the vacutainer steady. Thank you.

  • 1st class stuff good job perfect !
