@kaloniaj but, notice how his eyes are also glued to those that don't. he's probably just looking at the beauty in women. though in any event, he should be descreet in doing so ofcourse, just out of respect.
@woobuglauryn it's not infighting, unfortunately in order to propose positive change, negative points need to be brought to the serface. look at this youtube thing as a positive thing that is able to reach out to everyone with the hope of making positive change. and don't be concerned with other races seeing it and making judgements. the issues are more important than that.
one of the things i do not care for in the video is the ol corny ass afro centric king and queen thing. especially at the end of the video. That thing is over played. I'm black but im not going to go around like i am all high and mighty wearing some damn garments from a country were those blacks do not like American blacks very much.
lmao @ "GETTING YO SELF SOME THUG LOVIN!" . But the parts around that section of time seem pretty accurate. Not for all black women but a good majority
But what they miss is the other pool of men who get overlooked because they may not be on any end of the spectrum but a mix. Has dreams and aspirations but hasn't become successful yet. Has a job, is working hard and is happy( but there's never enough income for the woman), has a degree but only 1 out of 1000 people in his field land a job every so often (not his fault and he keeps applying). These are things black men like myself have to deal with and its stressful sometimes.
Another factor is media. On tv,movies, posters, music the Black man is supposed to be this epic figure and women try to base their choices off of that. I think there are 4 types black women go for. 1.Mr. Smooth- biz brotha, clean cut , VERY successful, 2. Mr afro centric- smooth, jive talking brotha with " i just read " knowledge/has african name but never been to africa, 3. Thug- Im tough/f the man i dont need a job but im known around the hood (popularity), 4 The Pretty boy
As for the Good guy/bad guy thing. Its just a woman's nature to be more drawn towards the bad guy especially when they are young. From the women i have come across it seems that they don't realize they need something good until their early to mid 30's or after they have had a few kids and are single parents struggling. Black women tend to use the women of the past experience as their own sometimes and it clouds their judgement."My mom married a bad black man,my great grand mother was left alone"
Hmm... Well in my opinion event though I respect Oprah and what she has done in regards to gaining points for blacks I do agree with some aspects of the video. A lot of black women that I have come across seem brain washed by her and would believe that shit was gold if Oprah said so. But I understand why. She is successful, rich, and a Black female who did it all on her own strength. But i believe that you can't take her success and apply it for all black women.
AND ANOTHER THANG, women prolly pic thugs cuz they want to be protected and since i've been alive all i ever seen the business man do is try to blend in with the oppressor or understand what the oppressor is saying about ANOTHER BLACK MAN!! all my life it always been the "good guy" talking about the thugs. this is were our problem started, thugs and dregrees dont get alone
