In the middle of the first day of Ramada, I took a few moments to explain my thougths and feelings. Ramadan Fasting is not for the faint of heart. I was thirsty. I am afraid of making food blindly, and because its Ramadan I can't check to see how it tastes. It was definately interesting. The results turned out really well and I suggest everyone try making it.

Also, I have been listening to a book recording recommended by another YouTuber... http://www.youtube.com/user/Amenakin She recommended 'Muhammad: His Life Based on the Earliest Sources' by Martin Lings. Its very good.

  • @iloveelhassan Are you still looking for the recipe of chbakia?

  • mashallah sister, may allah be pleased with you.

  • Harira was my FAVORITE when I went to morocco! I loved it with ryife wowow!!! I miss it sooo much now that I'm back in the US :(

  • @iloveelhassan Hey there! Well this is the first of your vids I've seen so far. What led you to Morocco? I hope you love it! I ran off as an 18 year old, white, christian american on a solo trip to Morocco for 4 months(crazy? YES) and fell in LOVE with the culture and people. I spent Ramadan there with a local family too!

Also spelled "shebakia" or "halwa shebakia" it is a special dough, intricately shaped (i failed at shaping them) fried, dipped in hot honey, and sprinkled with sesame seeds.

  • Shebakiya is a Moroccan desert, it's like a small pretzel shape, rolled in honey and then topped with sesame seeds. My Mom makes them, if you need the recipe. They remind me of my youth and the better days:)

  • I had to sub after this video!! We make Harira all the time in Morocco, and I love it!! It's one of my favorite dishes from back home, I love it with whole eggs:) Great Video girlie:)

  • @iloveelhassan chbakia is beautiful sweet chaped cookie that we eat with harira .look at that website youtube.com/watch?v=rh1e_akucx8 ,u ll find a recipe there
