It is not the car it is protecting, it is scared of your fingers. Apperently your fingers have been a huge threat to him in the past and therefore is scared and goes protective...

both of my girls are territorial I posted a video of my one girl going out of her way to attack our cat. We have eight cats and they are all terrified of the birds lol.
