Put the pressure on your governments to make sure Georgia gets enough weapons to protect the Air.
If the Air Defense is in place then during Autumn/Winter Georgia could establish control over SouthOsetia.
There is only one road over the mountains through Tunnel from Russia to SouthOssetia and Russians would not been able to pull in tanks and troops.
Only sending the planes, so let's make them fall.
Lets make them feel the smell of birds down, Afghanistan Mark II.

It is a habit of Russia to invade countries that were initally under his influence but then tried to break away, e.q. Hungary in 1956 and Czechoslovakia in 1968. Russia also tried to invade China (also a Communist like the then Soviets) in 1969, however, with a large standing army (PLA is more than million soldiers) and a determination to be independent from Kremlin, the invasion failed.
