Ferrets (Kits) Eating Quail- I put them on a whole prey diet

Want to hear a ferret squeak LOUD? The noise they make while eating this type of food proves they love it. Rabbit is their favorite.
Otter is the sable female and Hunter is the silver male. I got them started on whole prey by cutting up bits of rabbit meat (including the bone) into their wet Marshalls. They avoided the pieces of Rabbit until they accidentally ate a piece- then it was hard to get them to also eat kibble! I have given them Quail, Rabbit, Mice, & Duck. I don't recommend giving ferrets duck- they make the ferrets have a funny smell. I have yet to get an adult ferret that grew up on kibble to eat meat.

I like the idea of showing them feeding but don't agree with giving them live prey.....that bird is clearly struggling for safety....

Do you give them live whole pray? I've never heard a ferret squeel so loud.

@Peaches70380 I did once, its one of my video's. I won't ever do it again, its too painful to watch, and it could get them sick if the mice has any parasites. Now all they get are defrosted mice, quail, rabbit, and chicks.

I'm getting a Ferret some time next year. I've been doing some research. I'm considering doing a whole prey diet for my little guy when I get him. How do you make yours a complete diet for your ferrets? I honestly just don't understand it that well. Is it like give them a a bird, mice or rabbit and that's the whole complete diet?

I have four that grew up on kibble and they all switched over to raw, so it's not impossible. I wish they'd been on raw since always, though!!

I have a white ferret with silver stripe and tail just like yours. He is 7 months old and I am very interested in attempting to convert him over to raw meat and whole prey. Great video!
