Jason's DVD collection - Movies I Like - #1

I brought a bunch of DVDs with me to Japan when I first came in 2004.

Looking at the binder recently, I thought I would page thru it and recommend some of my favorite films.

This first installment rambles a bit - I hope the discussion will be a bit tighter in future installments.

By all means, please leave a comment or post a response if you have an opinion on any of the DVDs I mention.

I've already filmed parts two and three, so I should be posting them within the week.

whats your stance on blue ray

good question. Obviously, Blu Ray is new tech since I've moved to Japan, so I have no real experience with it. It just started being offered widely over here - my local video store rents about 100 titles - within the past year, and I didn't want to invest until I return to America. I'm eager to check it out - I've never seen a movie on Blu Ray yet.

Yeah - I really want to see it, but it might be one of those films that I end up missing, since it's out now in the US but probably won't be released here in Japan before I leave in August.

I'll have to catch it on DVD.

Has this seen a Japanese release yet? Watched it over here in the UK yesterday and it doesn't disappoint.
