Fanny the all-girl rock band from the early 70s. Here performing "You're The One" from the album "Charity Ball" live on the BBC's The Old Grey Whistle Test. "They were extraordinary: They wrote everything, they played like motherf*ckers, they were just colossal and wonderful." -- David Bowie, Rolling Stone, 1999

  • like it ,the pianist has a skinhead girl haircut, brilliant.

  • Killer

  • honestjoe1000 - only a guess, but VERY FEW "live"performances on TV were before the 1980's. Most played a backing track through the audio feed for AT least the instruments. The vocals sometimes were mixed live but often lip-synched. The only always truly live performances from that era that I know of were the BBC Live in studio broadcast. Some reissued on CD. This sounds like my old Fender Rhodes electric piano. All just a guess though. Loved it either way.

  • I love the video, and hearing them again, how we did not cross paths then and exchanged phone# and contact info never know. My Ex is a splitting image of the guitar Player, nice can still play both the Bass/Guitar Parts... If today's Kids the play music this sold and classy I might by a new record, Oh Their CD's Now.

  • @DLT100 ,

I will have to check out Slick Black Limousine. I loved Billion Dollar Babies! It pops into my head all the time.

  • I wish they would show the drummer more. She's kinda cute.

  • @jppless1

first heard of these from a flexi disk with a music mag

it was blind alley and the other stuff was to promote

Alice Coopers billion dollar babies album

but with an unreleased track slick black limousine

both haunted me from the day i played them

just downloaded blind alley from i tunes and got slick black

some time ago why it was never on billion is a mystery.

    happy daze ; )

  • BRILLIANT! LOVE THEM ALL,AMAZING MUSIC ¨¨OOH BABY I CAN MAKE YOU COME¨¨

  • Elton John was "live in the studio." I love Sir Elton John. I didn't see him on this show that night. Maybe that is for the best. I can't imagine that his performance was better than this.

  • I thought I was an enlightened 60's and 70's dude. Somehow I missed this song. I was not familiar with it. It is superb. I now need to rethink my life.
