New Year's 2008 NYC Midnight Run

If you're in New York City on New Year's Eve, you don't have to go to Times Square. This is the alternative to NYE in Times Square.

When the Ball drops at midnight, the fireworks go off and 5000 people start running through Central Park. It's a 4 mile run - although it's more of a party than a race. Non-alcoholic champagne is offered at the 2 mile marker. There is a costume contest and bands and dancing.

It was the most fun New Year's Eve party I've been to in a very long time.

My friends and i did run. We had fun, every mile marker we had a drink with our drinking flask.
