wait, this was a GM island? i figured it was just some storage place. and why did they use islands, anyway? if they didn't want anyone to come there, a floating town or something would've been far more practical.

The island that you are running to is not GM island, and it never was.
The islands south of Tanaris is used for part of the Scepter of the Shifting Sands quest chain.
During the quest chain, Meridith the Mermaiden offers the quest "Love Song for Narain." After you complete this quest at Narain, there is no follow up quest, however, if you go back to Mermaiden she will buff you with a large increase in swim speed.
At the island is the quest rAnS0m which allows you to continue the AQ chain.

There is none, GM's used to be ingame all the time untill BC came out. They would stay on the island when gm'ing but during BC they started to get rid of ingame GM's.
Now All the GMs use chat boxes outside the game and dont even enter the game.
Only the higher ups can go inside the game but for them to do that they need to be fixing somone's BIG problem.

me and a gm danced i didnt see em but he saw wat i was doin and i showed em glitches and he reccemmended blizz for me to help them =D
