Who was that guy and why he was killed ???

@Alik8888ua I don't know what you're trying to say, Alik. Using an online translator into English only makes for a mess. How were 'these two states' established on the basis of Kievan Rus? Write in Ukrainian or Russian: I'll understand either.

@Enayze Dear if you're more interested in the history ... I could have known that these two states were established on the basis of precisely Kievan Rus ... and managed akin to clan Rerikovichey ... with a single ruler in Kiev and one religion .. just a lot that can be Poneman if gluttony 46-million Ukrainians and 150 Russians ... ;)

@LeComte13 Wikipedia is not an authoritative source on linguistics. The modern term Russia may have its roots in the word Rus, however you are incorrect to assert that Russia was used in old slavonic Rus. You are using reverse logic and an unreliable source to back up your claim. Simply because the names are similar has nothing to do with its historical connection. It was called Russia intentionally to link it to Rus for political reasons. As well no respected historian uses wikipedia. Nice try

@LeComte13 There is a connection, but Russia did not become RUSSIA until 1703 with Peter the great, prior to that it was known as Muscovy.
Ukraine btw first became independent in 1648, then again in 1918.
@LeComte13 Id rather have Ukraine struggling but independent from dictatorship rule like Russia is under Putin. Democracy was evident in Kievan Rus and its evident in Ukraine, democracy however was not evident in Russia nor is it now. We have holes to patch up but its better to start new than to remain under someone elses lordship

Taras Szewczenko:
" Do umarłych i żywych i nie narodzonych rodaków moich na Ukrainie i nie na Ukrainie mój list przyjacielski"
(...) A chwalicie się, że Polskę Zwaliliście sami? Polska padła, tak! lecz zgniotła
I was pod gruzami"
