I made this as extra credit for my History class. Yes. I am THAT MUCH of a nerd.

Edit- This video gave me just enough extra points to be exempt from the big, horrible, end of unit test! Yes! And people told me video skills would never help me in the real world! Ha ha!

Update- I love the fact that teachers are showing this to their classes. I've gotten a good number of messages about that kind of thing. Although... I'm not entirely certain what educational value this video has... it is an interesting thought to me that students in random parts of the country are watching this in school.
It makes me feel special; like... an anonymous lesson-plan contributor to curriculums everywhere! (My god, I'm such a nerd....)

  • NO ONE CAN STEAL THE GREEK HISTORY BUT EVEN IF THEY TRY IS WORSE THEN COMIDING A MURDER,

    Feb 24 1999:

    .

The Ambassador of F.Y.R.O.Macedonia to Canada Gyordan

Veselinof, in an interview with the newspaper "citizen

Ottawa, admitted: "We have no affinity with the northern

Greeks who have produced leaders like Philip and the Great

Alexander. We are Slavs and our language closely related to

Bulgarian. There is a confusion about our identity. "

  • hi I did like your video but in my point of view It would be better if I had shown the names of the places and sculptures thanks!

  • Late 19th and early 20th century western historians who were inamorata (in love) with anything Greek, saw ancient Greece as the cradle of the Western civilization. They regarded Philip II of Macedon and his Macedonians as destroyer of "Greek spirit and culture", people who extinguished the flame from the Athenian glory. Athens in particular, and the rest of the Greek city-states in general.......cont

  • These people couldn't accept the fact that the organism in the Greek city-state, as they've come to know, no longer breathed any signs of life, and that the Macedonians as a non-Greek nation possessed power, discipline, and inner strength to conquer not only the Greeks but the Persians too. EG : When Philip II and his Macedonians conquered the Greeks after Chaeronea it was not a conquest but a "unification of Greece" (HOW CAN YOU CONQUER YOUR OWN LAND ?)......cont

  • When the Macedonian Army conquered territories from Greece to India, it was the "Greek Empire" that received the recognition, not the Macedonian Empire (although Alexander's empire had never been called Greek in any ancient sources). More modern inventions were added - that with the conquest of Asia the "Greeks were spreading Hellenism", and that the Macedonian kingdoms after Alexander, (which were ruled till their end by Macedonians, not by Greeks), were "Hellenistic kingdoms", etc.etc.

  • Claims that Macedonians are Bulgarians is false. Ethnographers and historians have concluded that Macedonians are a separate people. Greek claims also are undercut by historical Greek census data revealing the Macedonian language was spoken in Greece in the 1920s, counted separately from Bulgarian, Greek and Serbian. Furthermore, the Greek government in the late 1920s published, but later banned and burned, several thousand grammar books for Macedonian schoolchildren, written in Macedonian.

  • I'm just pretending to study for a history exam. By searching the topics on Youtube. Awesome.

  • You put the "Geek in Greek"....nice video.

  • I do not like "modern" garbage music when I watch history, idiotic americanized approach

  • @madichelp0 look to end the conversation i will tell two things

1.If Greek people wouldnt start revolution at 1821 then about 10 Europian countries would be under Turksih hands.

2.Something which happened before a lot of years but it is still important. You probablay know Byzantium. Those people were Greek. And if they wouldnt fight Mogolians then NOW you would be under Mogolian arrest.

  • haha, this is awesome
