I think this helps to show why the .357 Mag. 125 gr. HP still rules the roost for 1-shot stopping power (vs human predators). Thanks Much! My GP100 thanks you.

Seeing that, you can just imagine what it would do to your insides....a sobering thought indeed. :|

FIREPOWAAA!!!

@lawsturner Agreed. One of my favorite carry loads in my 357 revolvers is the 38 Special with 158gr Lead Hollow-points, loaded to a +P velocity of around 1000fps from a 4-inch revolver. Very controllable, with light recoil & muzzle blast, but extremely deadly and effective due to the superbly performing lead hollow point. I'm in the process of getting a 180gr SAECO mold HP'ed to a 160gr HP, LFN to load my own. I load to a minimum of 900fps from a 2", with 4" >1000fps.

@coltperc which is why i would prefer one of these loads in a revolver, while i believe the gold dot is an outstanding bullet, it works better in an automatic where it's needed to improve feeding

.357 is the hardest hitting round thjat i can shoot accurately and repeatedly, consistently and it is one of the meanest. I absolutely destroy targets with it. Anything that small that can take chunks out of steel and yet does not need a rifle to shoot it, is good stuff.

@lawsturner The Remington 357 Mag 125gr SJHP is particularly destructive due to the large amount of exposed soft lead core. Winchester 125gr is practically the same and I have personally chronographed Win 357 Mag 125gr JHP at 1475 fps from a 4-inch revolver. VERY destructive fired into 1 gallon water jugs!

from what i understand, the federal classic 125gr hp (non-hydrashock) with exposed lead outside the jacket expands faster, if you can get them id love to see it for comparison

what barrel length?
-
@666YourNemesis No, just your chances of not being pushed back or not getting a limb disabled until you get medical attention.
-
the winner of the 9mm vs .45 argument is clearly .357 magnum
Thank you - the revolver used was a Ruger Security Six. We have a much larger database of videos - its just the question of getting permission from the customer to release them publically. Not all companies/people are OK with that, so we release what we can and also the independant work that we do.
