Film Photography Podcast (FPP) host Michael Raso discovers that setting your Polaroid Land Camera to "lighten" while using an electronic flash allows you to "Paint with Light!"
http://www.filmphotographypodcast.com/

What is FPP?
The Film Photography Project seeks to inform, engage and inspire amateur and professional photographers working in the traditional film medium. Launched by FPP founder Michael Raso in 2009, FPP provides a forum for photographers from around the globe to share their creative output, challenges and product reviews, while promoting the viability of vintage cameras and film through frequent give-aways and exchange programs. In addition to the Film Photography Podcast Internet Radio Show, the Film Photography Project network of imprints includes the FPP Flickr Page, YouTube Channel, Facebook Group, Twitter Account, newsletter and the Film Photography Project Store.

  • Hope you can help, I've never really used camera flashes with PC cords & wondered if they're generally 1 size? I bought a flash off eBay for my 430 Landcamera but the plug doesn't fit fully in the PC socket on the camera, It seems really tight. Anyway, I just wondered if there were a few makes and models you could recommend as I can't find the one you use anywhere here in the UK. Well, I've blabbed on enough now! Thanks in advance - J

  • @Jonobi06 Hi. For the 430 camera you'll need a different flash holder. Regarding the flash, I recommend the Vivitar 252 flash. Remember, you'll need the bracket. Please send me an email for more details. - Michael

  • cant you also do the light paint thing with the manual Polaroid pack cameras without lowering the light level? (the 180, 190,195)

  • @samthelegoman1 Yes, you are correct! The 180,190 and 195 are manual cameras.

  • Hi there, loving your videos!

  • hey FPT! you upload really useful videos. I just want to know which film did u use for this effect? The FP-3000B? Or FP-100B/C

  • I haven't tried this, but I guess that with the automatic cameras you could block the electric eye with something opaque, so the camera would see only darkness, then the shutter should stay open for as long as you hold the shutter button down. You'd have the equivalent of 'bulb' mode on a normal camera.

  • FPP rules!.....you guys always make photography fun.

  • Beauty!
