I was one a group of filmmakers (also including Zara Ahmed, Gabrielle Bashist, Tyson Hauff, Joshua Kun, Collin Martin, and Tyler Zelinsky) chosen to travel to the slums of Sao Paulo, Brazil on a scholarship. The documentary tells the story of Meninos Do Morumbi, an organization that takes children off the streets and allows them to participate in drum and dance classes. Since its founding in 1996, Meninos has become an internationally recognized performance group, touring in Brazil, the UK, Canada, and the United States.
