I still really love Yue Minjun's work, but I feel the laughing man project has reached the point where it should be stopped to make way for something fresh. But I guess it is generating too much money, and as long as idiots are willing to spend 2M on one painting, Minjun will continue with the project.
Personally I thought Juan Munoz's series of laughing asian statues outdid what we see here. I've always maintained that Minjun was inspired by Munoz, but hardly anyone seems to talk about it.
