  • Despite the rhetoric of this video, shin splints can be overcome. Bottom line, they can be overcome with training and a progressive program. A Marine taught me to run, I went from a quarter mile ending in pain to being able to run five miles in boots, no problem. Head up, chin up, keep going, be professional.

Forget the "sucks to be you" and corn and milk stuff, the only thing that keeps people back from attaining anything in life is the mind.

  • @tom107able::: Some guys just break easy and others get sick a lot... There are some things in this world that are not possible no matter what, that's just a simple truth and guys should know their limitations.

If it wasn't true, then everyone would be a SEAL...

Five whole miles??? You should start writing fitness books...

  • Taking advantage of Wolff's law, I normally would beat my shins by kicking thick wood poles and smashing metal rods on my shins to strengthen them and prevent splints (just like the martial artists). Prior to training my shins, I was prone to shin splints. But after a good year of doing this, most of the nerves in my shins are deadened and the shin itself is denser and stronger.

  • @HellionX you're an idiot for that

  • @Buds131 Either way, it's without question that a lot of pre training is required, particularly with conditioning and nutrition advancements. With enough proper training (yes, a lot of work and conditioning) shin splints can be overcome so one can be ready for the program. Anyone with the inkling of how many miles you can expect to run shouldn't even apply until they get over shin splints.

Writing fitness books, yes, what a great idea! Just got to figure out how to get past 5 pushups ;o)

  • YOUR TO FULL OF YOUR SELF

  • Just lay down and to a toe raise for five minutes straight everyday until your shins don't hurt anymore. It cured mine in four days. Hope this helps

  • @HellionX

    not gelatinous.

    jelly of future wheelchair

  • @AINTEVENMADBR0

Shins of steel brah, you jelly?

  • It just takes time and training to avoid such a problem as shin splints. Ive been a runner all of my life; google it up to find how to work with it..

  • what kind of boots should i use then?
