This video was a recap for Subaru Sales Associates and affiliates that participated in a driving event pitting Subaru against its core competition. These tests were repeated thousands of times, with the the Sales Associates experiencing each event for themselves. This was NOT meant for public consumption and is therefore not a propaganda video. This video was a review for those people who experienced this driving event themselves. All vehicles were stock, had stability and traction control enabled if equipped, and were operated using the manufacturer's recommended tire pressures. While this video depicts individual instances, these tests were performed thousands of timeswith thousands of participants over a period of two months. The intended audience of this video experienced first hand the documented results.

  • It is easy for an expert like me to understand that the results of this test is well ''cooked"just as subaru sales department want to be.Subarus are good AWD but not the best. Many car manufactures are at least ten years in front of subaru in AWD systems, especialy the expensive europians

  • @energystar8711 Your unsupported assertions just made me literally laugh out loud. The only European AWD comparable to Subaru's is Audi's and even it can't compare with the system in the WRX STI.

  • @SoDaSub Laughing is good for everybody! You forget the Mercedes-Benz and the Range Rover in your answer

  • @energystar8711 Range Rover makes 4x4s. They are also no longer European. Mercedes 4matic is NOT as capable as Subaru's systems. It can't even re appropriate torque to any wheel with its 3 sensor 3 channel ABS system.

  • Never believe a video like this that has been made by the company itself. Independent and unbiased reviewers are always better.

  • Volvo drift FTW!!!

  • what about the mitsubishi evo? im pretty sure its just as good probably better than subarus awd

  • Look better

  • Most BS vie ever seen, they got paid to make subaru

  • @SoDaSub Range Rover makes AWD systems i believe. Look at the Range Rover sport. Who cares if they are european or not? That isn't the point.

  • BS

  • I have read of the XC90 AWD Haldex 2nd generation behaving in the manner portrayed in this video. When this happens you should turn the DSTC off (5 button pushes), and you'll get better results. But Volvo is already on Haldex 4th generation, and there is lots of evidence that the 3rd generation Haldex (2006) doesn't even behave this way, much less the 4th generation (2009).

  • Just read a post from a person who got to do a real life 'elk maneuver' in a Volvo xc90. Driving down the highway at 70MPH a van suddenly pulled over into his lane. He swerved very hard and suddenly found himself starting to go sideways. In a blink of the eye, he was suddenly 'righted' by the DSTC. He was very impressed, and thought the DSTC had, at the very least, saved him some severe bodily harm. I think the portrayal of Vovos going out of control around pylons in this video is very lame.

  • The youtube video "Volvo XC90 6 cylindres Sport" shows what a 4th generation Haldex AWD can do--with bad tires too.

  • @SoDaSub evo can.
