Oh yes, watching the VICE "Americanized" slant of world politics will be sure to enlighten me to what is actually going on!! Why is the Malian army outgunned? Why are the Jihadi groups so strong? Some questions everyone has seemingly failed to ask. So, you must ask yourself, if France is just there to secure its colonial interests, then why would you believe their accusations against the Jihadi's? What if these Jihadi's are actually a legitimate Tuareg uprising?

I find it bizarre that you forgot how to use the reply function magically, several posts in; how strange... I also find it bizarre how you expect me to just believe your claims...
Its very unlikely; and this has been proven through any anti-guerrilla campaign ever undertaken by a country. You can rarely ever destroy the guerrilla's themselves, so instead you destroy their means of supply/recruitment. Really, the French bombing is simply supplying the Jihad's with good recruitment PR.

(Why don't the people remove the Jihadi's themselves if they don't want them in power?) answer: France is there just to do that because they could not if you watch the vice documentary and see the Mali army out gunned in a fight you will understand why (they ask for help) and yes they are there for resource but if there was none France would not go why well first because it coast billions of euros to have an intervention and also sadly they need to see some profit from it for them and the people

Prove what? - That I have spent time in Mali & Niger. What do you want me to do? send you my passport......
I find it bizarre that you seem to think it is impossible for an armed group not to unsettle a government without popular suppport in a 3rd world country, it makes me feel you have very little understanding of the place, the environment or the structure of such a society. - You think its 'bullshit' because you want to see a big conspiracy not the reality.

Prove it.
Better yet prove that you have had any contact with both sides in question, and not just a slanted view of what is happening on the ground. Your theory that "armed bandits" just get big enough to unsettle a government without some type of popular people's backing is ridiculous. This same rhetoric has been used to put down revolts in colonial territory's for century's, and I for one am not buying this bullshit.

Speak for yourself. I was in Mali & Niger only last year and am in contact with colleagues who are there presently. Not that I think that has any real relevance to what we have discussed.

It was obviously an reply to your last sentence "you obviously have no idea etc...". I was saying that clearly neither of us have an idea of what's happening on the ground in Mali, and BOTH of our arguments are based on assumptions. The only difference is that I am willing to admit that.

Lets see your complete analyst of "ALL" reports coming out of Mali, please; proving that "government forces are supported by the people everywhere they go". Well firstly there is evidence from humanitarian groups of Malian military committing abuses to the Taureg, and Arab minority's; also the fact that France has been involved in backing insurrections of this kind for the opposite side (when it suits them) in Libya, makes their agenda seem clear.
Clearly neither of us do...
