Hearing on "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" - Rep. Patrick Murphy 2

The Armed Services Military Personnel Subcommittee is currently holding a hearing, "Don't Ask, Don't Tell Review." The hearing will include testimony from military veterans on the effects of the policy. Rep. Patrick Murphy (PA-08), the only Iraq veteran in Congress, questions the witnesses during the second round of hearings.

I am so glad there are people like Rep. Patrick Murrhy who can see the really about this and not give in to the fear tactics of people like Elaine Donnelly.

@equalsexes - Yes, exactly! They need to GET OVER it. And NO, they don't need 'sensitivity training'. Moronic Republicans have this delusion that our soldiers wouldn't be able to control themselves knowing gays are amongst them but in REALITY, most soldiers can handle themselves just like grown adults. Just because conservative morons freak out over gay people doesn't mean everyone else does.

Most of us know how to act our age. But if they need 'sensitivity training' then they should pay for it!

Then if they don't have any problem with someone's same-sex sexual preference, they shouldn't have a problem with someone's same-race racial preference. Do they also have sensitivity training so that soldiers can be sensitive to someone else's racial preference?

@ighforever -- So, then I guess God doesn't have a problem with homosexuality since he's never 'cured' those gay folks who've prayed so earnestly to him to be straight. Since God didn't answer their prayers and make them straight, he's sending the message that there is nothing wrong with being Gay. If God didn't want people to be gay, he'd answer every gay person's prayer to be straight.

@ighforever -- Sex is not sin. Whether it's hetero/homo/bi/trans, God creates our sexual identities, so for someone who is gay to pretend he is NOT is the ULTIMATE form of blasphemy! It's GOD who instills our sexuality and to deny one's true Nature is most insulting to God.

If you were a True Christian, you would already know this.

@equalsexes -- I don't think anyone is 'promoting' homosexuality. America and our military are just saying 'We don't have a problem with someone's sexual identity.' I suggest that folks who are worried about gay and lesbian soldiers MOVE to another country. Gay folks have served in the military since its inception, it's about time people like you recognize this simple fact and get over it. How do you think men can spend long nights in the jungle and still have good morale?

Protect diversity, diversity = Man + Woman!

Allow chaplains to promote the Matthew 19, biblical view of diversity: woman + man.

Stop promoting same-sex sexual preference (i.e. homosexuality) in the military.
