The Armed Services Military Personnel Subcommittee is currently holding a hearing, "Don't Ask, Don't Tell Review." The hearing will include testimony from military veterans on the effects of the policy. Rep. Patrick Murphy (PA-08), the only Iraq veteran in Congress, questions the witnesses during the second round of hearings.

i don't agree with don't ask don't tell, but the woman is actually being logical and makes sense.
The law says that gays cannot serve in the US military so don't ask don't tell is essentially allowing gays to serve in the US military by not asking questions.
If gays want to serve openly than the law needs to be changed. This woman is right that the reason that 12,000 have been discharged is because they were allowed to serve no questions asked. From whatever point of view DADT is bad law
If anyone, even non-military, finds out they're gay they can get kicked out. It doesn't matter if they're closeted. Many of them aren't "openly" gay and go out of their way to hide it but still get discharged. Decorated fighter pilots who have served 18 years, much needed translators in many languages, are getting kicked out after being outed.
What's the difference if both words are separated or not? That's still the same *EFF* ing thing! Seriously you and your "perfectionism" towards grammar are not focusing on what I meant.

I didn't !! ... I called it "outdated".
I thought that ... "in dated" ... was just too strong.
Are you a school dropout?
Outdated = Old News, Obsolete, Out-of-date.
Out dated doesn't make any sense, unless you write ... I went out last night, with a date ... I went out, dating.
Read books ... it will help you understand & learn the english grammar...or go back to school.
