there's a script that can convert most media too if you search 'Audio/Video/Image/Text/ISO Convert' it's on gnome-look

@gotbletu Its ok, i found a way, i opened the ac3 file up in audacity and then saved as a wav file, then added the wav to the video in pitivi video editor, job done, thanks for the info though, will do that anyway for the future

Wonderful; got it working and it is doing a big batch of files as I watch this. A lot better than all these turkeys that don't talk, only use the mouse, while trying to blast ones brains out using THEIR musical preferences, always too loud. -- Thanks for a good tutorial.

OK, I have a video I created when using windows. I am now under ubuntu and when I play the vid, there is no sound. the sound file is in ac3 format and I cannot find any way to convert to wav or mp3 so I can re merge the audio with the video. could you help? I am not too good with ubuntu as I haven't been using it long

@binkiie4dictator open up your package manager (software center, synaptic) and install ubuntu-restricted-extras this should give you all the codecs for wav and such

@SirRoachtokeMacPuff Jaunty is not supported anymore maybe thats why ur getting errors, u could use other mirror servers. Search of End of Life Ubuntu Repository on the net and they will show you how to do it. Otherwise u can update to a newer release like 10.04 and up
