"Day without a gay" - San Francisco

On December 10, 2008 - International Human Rights Day- gay people were encouraged to call in gay, instead of sick. Participants who opted to take the day off from their jobs were encouraged to perform community service, and charitable organizations across the country and to boycott shopping to show the impact of their absence from everyday life and to diminish the hate behind Prop. 8.
Gay activists gathered at the plaza at 24th Street & Mission to voice the anger of the community and others same-sex marriage supporters against the California voters approval of Proposition 8 last month, when California's marriage rights were eliminated.
Assemblyman Tom Aminiano were among the speakers addressing civil rights and the wait of Senate to pass ENDA, so that becomes illegal to discriminate against gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgendered individuals in the workplace.
You don't need to be gay, simply be a conscious citizen, who believes in the importance of fighting for the most basic civil rights for ALL Americans. Please contact your state representatives to voice your opposition to Prop. 8!

I suppose you feel the same way about all the Jim Crow laws that denied equal rights to African Americans after emancipation. Our system of government has many times overturned the will of the majority to protect minorities, so just because the mob says so, it doesn't always make it so. If we'd waited for the people in this country to vote FOR interracial marriage, it wouldn't have been legal until 1991. But from your comments I can see you're not interested in actual fairness.
