Well, no, but it is only supposed to happen when there's a full moon. A lot of these movies right up until the present have messed around with the continuity, though.

  • Wait, I thought werewolves didn't turn till midnight?

  • part 6 stops.not complete

  • hmm...

  • @boingokky Some of it came from the berzerker warriors, who dressed in bear skins and fought like animals.

  • "I don't subscribe to old wives' tales" - it's not on my RSS feed!

  • In folklore, killing a werewolf with a silver bullet is like killing a vampire with holy water,But a silver bullet on the other hand is a sign of a werewolf weakness.

  • Can't compare a classic werewolf to a modern werewolf in horror films. Modern lycans are more dog formed and vicious. They'll fucking tear in to strips.

  • @k1000a92 Most myths have some basis in fact. It's fantastic to think that man can transform into an animal, but hundreds to thousands of years ago, we have no idea how the werewolf legend came about!

  • Unlike vampires, they are not generally thought to be harmed by religious artifacts such as crucifixes and holy water. In many countries, rye and mistletoe were considered effective safeguards against werewolf attacks. Mountain ash is also considered effective, with one Belgian superstition stating that no house was safe unless under the shade of a mountain ash. In some legends, werewolves have an aversion to wolfsbane

  • So what this movie says is that if I put on my werewolf costume in Transylvania, and run through the night making a few scary wolf noises, they'll think I'm a werewolf? That's just hilarious. Wow, that'd be fun ... until they shoot me down with silver bullets and stake me through the heart with a crucifix ...

  • For example, I once read that if you hide in the shade of a Mountain Ash Tree, a werewolf cannot attack you, and by that extension the wood of that tree protects you against one. I'll bet you've never heard that one before.

  • Right. In very ancient tellings, some Werewolves would be killed by other means. ^^

  • @whiteash002 It is true that legends about werewolves are ancient, while the idea about vulnerability to silver bullets is quite modern.

  • oh I don't know. The Lone Ranger liked silver

  • If you True, but it's also silly to think a man who turns into a wolf-man is somehow going to be magically immune to anything other than silver.

  • Given the fact that lycanthropy is a myth in itself, isn't it?

  • It's a myth that only silver bullets can kill a werewolf, you know.

  • Don't they know about silver bullets?
