Prefab Sprout, performing 'Carnival 2000' (from the album 'Jordan: The Comeback') on 'Going Live' in January 1991. This was sent in by Ian Cook, and has been brought to you by www.prefabsprout.net
maybe they didn't get the same acclaim because of videos like this... it seems they had terrible management or lack of any other creative ties to the rest of the art world..
This is one of Paddy`s best songs! A terrific pop group and wish I knew more about them as a kid. They deserve the same acclaim that the Beatles got. And why did the sprouts only achieve a modicum of commercial success? Because they were just too god damn clever for the proverbial public!!
Paddy looks upset.

Too bad that with the exception of the nylon string guitar intro, this is entirely lip synced. It's simply a modified mix of the original.

Timeless perfection indeed. Keep this in the vaults for Carnival 3000.

How 'nineties' was that?
(except for the timeless perfection woven into our imagination by Mr McAloon of course)

There's just something about Paddy McAloon. A quality about him that prevents his music from sounding cheesy :)

Imagine a band like this appearing on childrens TV today?
