@14ISTIGHT
Yes, it is. Juvenile bald eagles don't have the white head and yellow beak of the adult birds.

@42sundown P.S. The duck got up and shook herself off and just went on wagging her ducktail as the do when they are aggrivated about something. I followed and looked at her and she had a small hole in her back just between the wings and behind the neck. All these muscovees could fly well, even the huge, heavy drakes could fly from pond topond and to the house. Her big wing feathers must have prevented the talons from peircing her vitals, and she never looked back. Abe did save the day forher

pt 3 Surprised I was to see a huge red-tail hawk in the garden sitting on a muskovee hen with Abe trying to fight him off. Abe in his most agressive way, would run at the hawk and then veer off, as the hawk would rare back and strike at him. I probably got to watch this play out for 30 seconds or so before the hawk saw me and flew away. Abe strutted and gobbled for hours afterward, so proud he'd won thre day. We had Abe for years and he would come in the house if the kids held the door.

Part II It used to be hilarious to see my son, 2 neighbor boys, my daughter, a miniature schnauzer, an australian shepherd, a pit dog, and Abe, all running and playing. One Sunday afternoon when all the kids and dogs went to the lake and I wanted to rest, I heard a commotion with the chickens outside. We are blessed to have some huge, beautiful red-tailed hawks around here and I love to watch them. Anyway, I snuck (sneaked) outside and peeked around the corner of the house. Surprised pt 3

I love this work. All geese including tame are very protective of their territory, yards, and friends. One year when my lids were little, I bought a live, big bronze, young gobbler to eat for Thanksgiving. Big mistake. He was too gentle so the kids named him Abe after Abe Lincoln whom my son was studying in 2nd grade or so. He made a great pet. We live on a horse farm and had every sort of varmint, dogs, cats, long haired ginea pigs, muskovee ducks, chickens, cows, horses, ponies...go pt 2
