I'm Still Here Chapter 32

Hey guyzz. SO sorry I haven't posted in a while, and thank you for not unsubbing. You have NO idea how hectic it's been! But I've had a sudden burst of inspiration, so here ya are, despite my craziness! :)

The next morning, Nick was of course exhausted.
Hannah was running a fever, Aleece was too, and Joel was just quieter than usual, which worried Nick ALOT!
Thankfully, none of them wanted to eat, except Aleece....As always.
So he made her eggs. bacon, toast, oatmeal, and pancakes. He made enough for a horse, and she ate it all. He wasn't hungry either, just tired.
He sat on the couch with Joel for a second to collect his thoughts.
Nick: What should we do today Joel?
Joel: *looks at him, then looks back down*
Nick: *sighs* What's the matter with you now? *KINDA tired of all the strange things wrong with his family*
Joel: *shakes his head, and burries it in Nick's shirt*
Nick: *picks him up* Ok then. Until you know, you can stay in your crib.
So Nick put him in his crib. Mean, and unusal at that.
Joel: *shaking his head crying*
For Joel, not being with his daddy was capital punishment. And he felt horrible now for not knowing what he wants. But when you don't know what you want, how do you explain that feeling?
As soon as Nick put him in his crib, the doorbell rang.
He walked downstairs looking pretty much like a zombie, and opened the door.
It was Maria.
Maria: Hey Nick! Wow, you look terrible.
Nick: *dead stare*
Maria: *clears throat* Anywho, is Aleece home? *looking kinda nervous*
Nick: She's sick, in our room. *points up the stairs*
Maria: Oh well, maybe this isn't the best time--*Nick pulled her through the door, and shoved her towards the stairs*
Nick: PLEASE go see what she wan'ts, she's driving me CRAZY! *looking like a mad man*
And in fact, Aleece had been driving him crazy. Asking what time it was, asking for a drink, asking for more food, asking what time it was again. GOD! WOULD SHE EVER STOP??
Suddenly, the power went off, and Nick heard Aleece, Hannah, and Joel scream in the distance.
Nick: Ughh.
Maria ran upstairs, still startle and dumbfounded by Nick's reaction.
Nick dragged up the stairs into Joel's room, (Hannah was sleeping with Aleece) He opened the door, and was startled to find Joel gone! The window was open, and it was raining through it!
Nick stood there for a second.
Nick: Oh, crap.
And after that he ran.
