Ol Hank wrote it and as only a man who felt such loneliness can put it on paper. Now Dean sings it beautifully, in his style. Some folks feel Honky Tonk is the way to sing. It don't matter which. It's all in the ear of the beholder.

Sorry, but for those who only know the Elvis and Cash versions, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the ACTUAL version by Hank Williams. As for this Dean Martin version, I have to say it blows. Lets hope Terry Bradshaw sings it better. Shouldn't be hard.

i have been listening to deano 60 years and he got better as time went by
