Forty years ago, I spent a year in Santiago de Compostela with my family. We lived in an apartment near the Ayuntamiento. On the other side of the field behind the Ayuntamiento, almost every morning, we could hear someone practicing the Gaita Galega, Galician Bagpipes, the regional musical instrument. My wife and I returned to visit Santiago in the Spring of 2010 to experience a festival. The pipers along with drummers marched through town. Beautiful Memories!
