This version of "Beale Street Blues" was recorded at The Harp Hotel, Albrighton, Shropshire, England on Sunday, Sept. 23rd. 2007 by the New Washboard Syncopators.
The Syncopators have become established as popular visitors to the Harp and always provide us with some of the less well known numbers in the jazz repertoire, although this video is of the very well known "Beale Street Blues".
The line-up for this session was a little different in that they were without trombone player Dave Braidley, who was off sunning himself somewhere, so the front line was Bob Smith on clarinet/tenor sax and Chris Carmel on cornet. The regular rhythm section was Tony Quinn on percussion, Bon Pearce on bass and George Linder on banjo.
Another extract from another very enjoyable gig at the Harp.
"Perdido Street Blues" by this excellent band is also on YouTube.

Sessions at the Harp are held every Sunday lunchtime and Tuesday evening. Details from John or Marie Howell on 01902 756158
