  • Interesting, I'm trying to decide between the BUC or the BUT since I play a tenor uke.

Did you get a chance to play the tenor version when you bought this? Sounds great btw, nice playing.

  • @cblood56 Funny you should ask. I have not had a chance to play the tenor version. But, I have had the opportunity to play 3 different BUC's... It seems since they are all from Asia, they were all completely different. Meaning, Mine was consistent in finish : all the same satin finish. #2 had satin finish but, the neck and headstock was very glossy. #3 was a bit in the middle there was a mix of finishes on both the body and the neck and headstock. Inconsistent production plagues these banjoleles

  • @jefferyrsmith

Funny thing about the finishes. Gold Tone seems to be transitioning to gloss on instruments that were satin-finished before. Saw a new Plucky, all gloss-finished today. Older ones are satin.

The Plucky and the BUS & BUC instruments look like the same factory makes them. Could be that they are mixing and matching old and new stock necks and bodies.

Had the high-end banjolele. Very well made and finished in gloss, but heavy, even as an openback.

  • @drybeansaloon I am posting it for sale on Ukulele Undergound marketplace next week. you have first dibs. do you want the vid first? I will play ain't she sweet. Perfect song for the banjolele.

  • @cblood56 If you are interested I am considering selling my BUC. I have fallen in love with the soprano uke since last fall. I rarely take it from it's case.

  • @cblood56 I can send you a video if you wish... along with high quality photos. It will avoid me having to put it on ebay and I would also be sure it was going to a good home. $310 and i will ship it for free.

  • @cblood56 It is a BUC. The concert model. Actually, since a banjo head is smaller than a uke body, it actually has more like a tenor "scale".

  • What model banjo uke is that? Is it the new BU series concert or tenor?

  • @bem1492a it's kind of heavy like five pounds, i still like it very much

  • @bem1492a thanks for the comment!
