Hate crimes laws have no place in this country.

How did we get to the point in America where once "all people are credted equal and endowed with certain inalienable rights" to a spectrum of "goverment defined classes with some having benefits and some suffering sanctions?

ALL acts of aggression are "hate crimes" and ALL similar acts should be treated equally.

I suspect the government wants us in "classes" so they can divide us against one another,and while we argue DIVIDE AND CONQUER and take away ALL of our "inalienable" rights.

The sad fact is that too many people have been a victim of violence SIMPLY because she was married to him, he had money the thug wanted, etc.

Matthew Shepherd was murdered because of a robbery gone bad .. not because he was gay!!! The guys who were convicted are spending the rest of their lives in prison ..... this bill that passed through the house is despicable and will ultimately destroy our First Amendment Rights to freedom of speech and our freedom to practice our religion!!!

No, everyone should simply have equal rights. Furthermore, those equal rights should be the right to do anything they want except that which restricts others' freedom. That's true freedom, not the government telling us we can't say anything about minourities. Americans have a right to free speech, even if that causes a fool to go and do something illegal. He made that choice, not you.

It's incredibly disturbing how ignorant you are to the law. I've heard that lie spreading around Christian communities. I wish that they would be more willing to spread the Truth rather than falsehoods. So how about you tell them this? The bill states "sexual orientation" not sexuality, pedophilia is still illegal in the United States, and it is not illegal to attack another person who is harming someone else.
