http://www.essentialtennis.com/ I finally got out to hit a couple tennis balls today! This video shows a few baseline points that Louis and I played after I filmed some specific strokes for instructional videos. Comments are welcomed.

  • Only four backhands and one of those a slice?! C'mon, Ian! XD

  • @alzahir haha, I'll get some more points up soon. My backhand drive/topspin shot is definitely my least favorite shot though, I use it sparingly during point play, something I'd definitely spend a lot of time working on if I had it.

  • @EssentialTennis hi Ian, i feel kind of stupid for asking this, what grip it is used on that shot ( the first shot you did on the vid) used

  • @gaudigalves If you mean the feed that I started the point with then the answer is Continental. If you mean the forehand that I hit that bounced right next to the baseline the answer is Semi-Western.

  • IAN vs WILL! IAN vs WILL! :)

  • @assailant85 That would be a fun match :)

  • @EssentialTennis Come on you guys need to sort that one out and post it on your websites!

  • @EssentialTennis Is that because you play a lot of doubles and can hide it plus the fact the block and slice are more effective in said doubles? I find that in doubles I rarely use my one handed topsin backhand but in singles I do a lot more.

  • i think i like wills strokes better. his seems more fluid and accelerates better. bt as for who would win... i dunno

  • Lol...yeah come on...we want to see highlights from a grudge match between you and Will...analyze that!!

  • @shivex HA! That looks like very high-quality play to me. A lot of solid, safe, deep groundstrokes and pretty much every short ball gets either put away or used to set up a finishing volley. Love that Ian isn't trying to kill it.

  • @EssentialTennis the first one... I always see all the pros hitting it when warning up, i have no much time on tennis. thanks :)
