For more information, as mentioned in the video, please read the text at the numbers corresponding to the numbers on screen (self explanatory..). Please note that it is possible that the information given is not correct, I haven't done too much research, and everything stated below is what I still remember from what our guide told us. If you have any additional information, please send me a private message, and I'll add it.

The video starts off quite slowly, with more pictures than video, and the video that is included is kind of shaky, but it gets better towards the end. I didn't want to spill my whole battery at the beginning, so that's why. I sort of made a report of my trip. Everything is shown in the exact order as in which I got to see everything. I used Google Maps to get satellite images of the places, so you can get a clearer view of the area around the objects.

------------

*1. This is the first checkpoint, at the edge of the 30km exclusion zone. You can only get through here with the right documents. The exclusion zone is around 110km away from Kiev, and close to the border with Belarus.

*2. These are the first buildings you'll get to see once you get inside the exclusion zone. Only a few families still live here. The youngest inhabitant is said to be around 50 years old. The families moved back to their homes several years after the incident. We weren't allowed to enter these buildings, as they were on the edge of collapsing.

*3. This is the monument that was built to honor the 29 firefighters that suffered and died, because of the incident at reactor 4.

*4. This is the kindergarten of a small town, located near the reactor, that got ordered to be destroyed by the government after the incident, because it was contaminated. Only three buildings are left here, including this kindergarten.

*5. This is the cooling tower that was under construction for reactor 5. It was never finished, as you can see. The smaller tower next to it was also still under construction, for reactor 6.

*6. That big building in the distance, with all the cranes is reactor 5. It was never finished because of the incident at reactor 4.

*7. Fifty thousand people used to live here.. Now it's a ghost town.. If that sounds familiar, you've probably played the game Call of Duty 4. This city has been used as a setting for several games, like Call of Duty 4, and the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. This town was evacuated more than 24 hours after the incident at reactor 4. The residents were told to leave all their stuff behind, because the evacuation would only be temporary. People claim that the government already knew that the inhabitants would never see their homes again, but they didn't.. ..which was very unfortunate for the pets of the inhabitants.. The people had to leave their personal belongings behind, including their pets. Later, hunter squads and the army patrolled the town to kill all of them. When the patrols left the town, everything of value was raided from the city.

*8. I can't find any information about this factory, but our guide told us that they used to build something for nuclear submarines. It only stopped working 9 years ago, meaning that the factory continued to be operative, even though the city was empty. Every valuable item had been taken out a few days before we came. The metals were going to be recycled. (Don't worry, inside it was pretty much clean from radiation.)

There also was some sort of basement in the alley between the main gate, and the factory halls. As you can see in one of my other video's, there is a lot of stuff down there, but I don't know what it is. If you have some spare time, please take a look at it, and help me figuring out what actually was down there. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V69UFgYNeqQ )

  • I am slightly ashamed that my knowledge of this does come from playing the STALKER series, but at the same time due to this had a very emotional response to this video. The factory at 5:54 is modeled in the game as the "Jupiter Plant", and seeing it on screen was truly strange because I feel like I have really been there. Similarly the ferris wheel pictures and the blocks of flats have the same effect, because watching this is like seeing a place I know totally devastated. Odd, yes. Great video.

  • @unimoggie I completely know what you mean. The STALKER series capture the atmosphere pretty good, though it's a far stretch from reality! I'm so stoked for STALKER 2, I hope it'll be a bit less.. cryptic than it's predecessors!

  • at 3:50 is that the hotel off COD4 where you shoot Zakheav ?

  • @j8j8j8j8j8j8j8j813 nope, but it's close to it. Look at 0:25 in part 2 for that hotel you shoot from.

  • It hard to imagion that these were people home.

they were just sitting or doing somthing what we would be doing.

    then the desaster struck.

i would hate to move house. just leave in an instant. not knowing when or even your going to walk up the path to your home. or see people in your day to day live.

one amazing life then just get destroyed in a instant.

also it would hard to imagion what would happen if the desater wouldnt of happend.

    there lives wouldnt of changed.

    R.I.P Chernobyl

  • @MrKillerfan18 in 1985 the chernobyl nuclear power plant exploded killing hundreds of people and making the city radio active and uninhabitable and is still radio active today and will be for the next 500 years or so

  • i would never go there. you should research hot particles. im sure most of the radioactive particles have been washed to the ground due to 25 years of rain. so every step you take you may be kicking up hot particles that get on your clothes or worse, inside your body

  • @aapinator Sorry to say Brother.S.T.AL.K.E.R 2 has been cancelled. The company was under investigation for corruption, but it was the government officials who are corrupt.

  • Shame on me for only seeing this after playing CoD 4, but I already knew but not like this, your video is so detailed.

Say, were you somewhat afraid of being in a ghost town?

  • can anyone tell me the story of this town i mean what happend ?

  • @unimoggie I also agree with you, I do feel that I was there due to the STALKER series. Cheers from Brazil.

  • The STALKER and CoD comments are amusing me at all of these videos :D.

    Thanks for the footage!
