DESCRIPTION:
This year is shaping up to be the worst year for the 35 million Americans allergic to pollen. The most affected areas are in the south and southeast. Experts say this year's unusually wet winter in many parts of the US followed by a dry spring have created ideal conditions for the production of pollen. Allergies to pollen have doubled in the past 20 years, in part due to pollution and smog. Pollen grains attach to particles in pollution, which carry them deeper into the lungs. Source: aafa.org
