The bottoms of driftboats are coated with either Coat-it or Gluv-it or have a UHMW bottom. Coat-it and Gluv-it are a coating you put on the bottom of boats that keeps the aluminum from getting scratched or wearing while running over rocks in rivers. Both also help the boat slide easily over rocks as well. Both do need to be reapplied every so often as they wear down. UHMW (basically the white cutting board material) also does the job, but does not need to be reapplied.

most aluminum boats are pretty tough, you should see what they do to the set net boats....

I know, I was amazed when I first seen this. They are tough boats but dang, this has got to put a whole lot of unnecessary wear on them.
If it was me I'd back my trailer right down there!!!
