Stephen Sayadian (together with an uncredited Mark Esposito) directed this 80's cult classic starring B-movie "scream queen" Michelle Bauer. Café Flesh is considered by many to be a masterpiece of the Adult Film genre. The film became a success at midnight showings. An R-rated cut of the film was shown in mainstream theaters. This video is taken from a promotional VHS that showed various scenes from the R-rated cut.

i have the X-rated cut of this somewhere, but i'd like to see the R-rated version, just to see what they cut and whether the movie still works. strange as it might sound, i could see the R-rated version being better. I read that the director originally wanted to make the movie R-rated, but his funders MADE him put in the hardcore scenes.

I watched this film on Friday, and I must say this movie is a masterpiece. It's one of the most ingenious films I have ever watched. I left a comment before saying "What the fuck did I just watch?" before, but I take it back. Everything about this film was fantastic. Sure, it had pornographic scenes in it but they were artistically laid out. I find myself often hearing the quotes of the characters in my head. I'll say it again, this movie is a masterpiece and is completely underrated.
