This is a video of my home-made arcade cabinet flipping through the menu ad loading a game. The quality is terrible, as it was shot several years ago with my Sony Mavica CD-1000 photo camera -- not an ideal machine for shooting video.

Cabinet Specs:
Windows 2000 SP4
AMD Athlon 850MHz processor
Turtle Beach Montego II sound card
Toshiba 22" tube television mounted directly into wooden bracers
Happ control competition sticks in a self-designed 7-button layout (works with traditional 4-button Neo-Geo and 6-button CAPCOM)
Car stereo speakers
Sony stereo system driving the speakers
Custom MAME build optimized for Athlon

  • Hey dude what Front End Are you Using, I like the look of the control panel display showing what buttons you have to9 use in each game.

  • I wrote my own from scratch in Visual Basic 6 when I couldn't find one I liked. I don't think I have the source code anymore though, so you can't really use it. The backdrop image matches the wallpaper to hide the boot process, and that's compiled into the EXE. The only configurable part is a little script file which tells what button config the game has and the info for each game.

  • I give you a 100 for the arcade machine :D and a 40 for the video quality :S

  • You had the skill to make this homemade arcade, but you apparently lack the motor skills to hold a camera. I doubt you could beat anyone 1 vs. 1 at Street Fighter.

  • I replaced my shell entry in the registry with the frontend I made.

  • Nice my Xbox is the same way Execpt it has like 500GB ata Hardrive:) and 2,000 Games:)
