  • Hi,

I feel this is the most musical version of RRHC ever! Everything really works well together! The bass part really grows from the edge to the end. Edgar and his Univox piano are hammering and stabbing. The horns and guitar work are insane with fat harmonies and thrust. Even the guitar solo has major melody. Just a great musical journey from the intro to outro'.... BRAVO!!!

  • This saved me getting my copy of this out.

I think this is the best Rock 'N Roll Hoochie Koo

  • love this song !!!!!!

  • @georgesorosisgay1 I don't know if Rick would smoke a joint these days. Rick, like Mark Farner, became born again Christians. They're high on Jesus now.

  • Sorry Rick, it was all Johnny's after this take.

  • THIS is how ya play the ax. fuckin fat slinky tone and perfect vibrato. 10 out of 10

  • Johnny on lead vocal, lead guitar. One of the all time best R&R solos.

yeah Rick wrote it but here it's all JW and his Firebird.

  • Joeyfulco speaks the truth. This version is far superior to Derringer's slick FM version. And you NEVER HEAR IT.

  • I would have shat bricks if i aws in that crowd when his brother was announced. Do you agree?

  • My band had the honor of backing Rick derringer and mountain (lesley west) up in Brockton, Ma remova park 1991 smoked a joint with him and his band back stage

  • I saw Edgar on March 8th, 1984 (my 24th b-day) in a small bar in Nordeast Minneapolis called The Union. He was so wasted that when the session was over it took two roadies to lead him outta the bar. I fired up a number when he did "Tobacco Road"... Good times back in the day.
