  • I find it interesting that Apple once referred to itself as a "personal" computer, (aka PC) when the commericals not try to imply that Apples are not PC's

  • The music played in the weather kit commercial is still being played in ads today.

  • WKY (KFOR) is not and has never been an NBC O&O.

  • Actually the fourth commercial is from OKC. That computer store was located at the corner of May and Wilshire, just west of la-di-da Nichols Hills.

  • WKY-TV had to change its letters when they made OPUBCO sell it==no newspaper, radio AND TV in one market; now those were the days before they let media monopolies own a market ad go crazy, as they do today since the 80s. WKY-TV became KTVY in ca. 1974... then KFOR later.

  • Actually Oklahoma Publishing company started WKY tv in 1949, it was assosiated with all the news affiliates at the time NBC, ABC, CBS and DuMont. Although it did pick NBC as a main affiliate it didnt become an exclusive NBC affiliate until 1958.

My grandfather worked as an engineer there while it was radio and then into its tv years from 1939-1983.

  • The guy doing the voiceover for the wearther guide... Doesn't he sound like the guy who does the Brahum's commericals?

  • The early days of personal computers, 30 years ago...what a big difference and success it turned out to be.

The 2nd & 4th commercials don't seem to be from Oklahoma: the 2nd referred to a weather guide from a Kentucky TV station: WLKY of "Kentuckiana". The 4th reminds me of a similar computer store commercial on a L.A. TV (I'm from Sou. Cal.). WLKY and KNBC are NBC affiliates, but be in mind WKY-TV (now KFOR) was Oklahoma's oldest TV station: NBC O & O since 1948. +

  • The arranger you used for the Stan Littleton spot is excellent!!!

  • I want one of them apples!
