Half Life 2 played on my low-end PC, the game is very playable even with farly low FPS and the physic engine works great as you can see in the video. Game graphics settings are at the start of the video so please don't ask again. Captured with Fraps so some FPS are lost.

PC Specs:
AMD 5000+ Athlon 64 x2 @ 2.6Ghz No OC
3GB Memory
NVIDIA GeForce 6100 on-board GPU
19" Widescreen VGA Monitor
Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit

  • hmm this oc isnt that bad. Th e processor isnt amazing but it's good enough for hl2 and 3gb ram is plenty. Just need a new gfx card :D

  • @SuperKindle yer it was never really a gaming rig, I just liked to test its capabilities as such. I've now sold it and got a laptop now :-)

  • Nice video man, be happy with what you've got for now, appreciate them, as I only have Intel integrated chip-set on my laptop with 1.66 Intel Core (2) Duo and 2GB RAM. (:

And dude you're evil, haha at the beginning you threw the thing to the evil guard guy & he thought it was another person who threw it so he hit him with the stick and he died, because of you hahaha lol

    nice

  • @EvilN00ber lol thanks dude, got rid of this pc anyway now and got a much faster laptop :-) so things are good

  • Half-Life 2 still looks quite awesome, actually...

  • Thanks this is on my old crappy on-board graphics "card", if you can call it that lol

  • I have a laptop with a 6100gpu, as well as a main gaming pc, and can say that HL2 can run easily at 60+fps in a lower resolution. I think that's the main problem with the 6100gpu... it can show great detail, but not with playable fps at a normal resolution. I use the commad line -dxlevel 81 in the properties section of the Steam HL2 shortcut. It gives me a standard resolution 720x480 which allows me to up the graphics to a very high level (no AA though).

  • Hello friends I am new hereabouts and the truth very good his videoes Good me gustaria that were visiting my forum and saw my videoes and sign Good estare raising videoes very followed for all akellos that they like The videoes of test of performance with 6200 ... since my videoes are with 6600 xfx well I wait for them in my forum and also I wait and comment .... thank you

  • Playing this and CSS in DirectX 8.1 instead of DX9 improves the framerate alot. I have played HL2 on the Geforce 6100 with AMD Athlon 64 3000+ and 512MB RAM on 640x480; medium settings; shader model set to high; texture on medium (x4 Anistrophic Filtering) & object detail on medium; no AA. Same goes for CSS but with shader detail low. HL2 FPS: Steady 30. CSS FPS: Steady 60fps.

The CSS video on my page was on my 6100 with Fraps which reduced the FPS but it however still remained at 30fps.

  • @C00P3RAG3 but like I said with a better card this game would have run full no problem.

  • @GordonFreeMANness yeah it is still a super-awesome game, still one of the best pc games ever made!! rocks!
