Here it is. It took $450,000 to modify an existing carriage with standard seating to one with much less seating and more standing room. All in the name of cramming more people into a train during peak hour. Just the thing after a hard day at work to have to spend maybe up to an hour standing to take the trip home if you live in the outer suburbs, or longer if there is a delay and you are trapped like sardines. As reported by the Channel 10 5pm news on Thursday March 12 2009.

  • Get used to what is required to move more people with the same number of trains. Try getting a seat on a train in Tokyo. There are very few of them because you get more in standing up than you do sitting down......just like the guy from Hong Kong (below) already knows.

  • The trains are still to much seats. The company should refer the designs in Hong Kong.

  • Welcome to Con ex. This is a. Greensborough limited express service. via the city loop
