In this exclusive interview, President Omar al-Bashir has accepted responsibility for the conflict in Darfur for the first time. Yet he denies charges of genocide, accusing the ICC of 'double-standards'.

"Of course, I am the president so I am responsible", Bashir admits when asked about the conflict in Darfur, which has left tens of thousands dead. Yet the reviled president argues that Darfur is a conflict heralding from colonial days and accuses the western media of exaggerating the number of human losses "for a reason". Despite facing ten different counts of crimes against humanity, Bashir is adamant that the case against him is wholly political, asking why the ICC isn't investigating crimes in Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan. He also criticises the NATO intervention in Libya, saying their motives are questionable and that their actions risk destabilising Sudan and the surrounding region.

  • @KNODISELF only the ones that have identity issues, like those who are black as night but call themselves arabs, or those who think the white man is the answer to all their problems. such people hate the whole black african diaspora even though they themselves are black. knowledge, morality and love of oneself and your fellow man is the solution.

  • Mr.Omar H. al bashir you say that 69% of the sudanese people want you as there president well what do you have to say about that video -> /watch?gl=CA&hl=en&v=wJrVIUMFrmc

  • You capture al basir in a game called battlefield 3

  • @KNODISELF

  • @ KNODISELF

    I agree with you 100%

  • some Africans are so confused almost like children.

  • While el-Bashir makes some valid points, I cannot get over his stupid ass smug smile when being questioned about the genocide in Darfur. I think he is a complete asshole who is denial.

  • @KNODISELF Islam has been in Africa for well over 1300 years. He may be black according to your definition, but not according to the Sudanese definition. Everything is relative my friend. And no, I am not an el-Bashir supporter. The country should be unified, and not separated, however that is what the global elite want. War is profitable.

  • This is what foreign religions have done to simple minded africans, he is not Arab he is black.

  • big laier, but laingfor ur self.
