After a brand new stadium, off season surgeries, steroid allegations, three huge acquisitions, walk off win after walk off win, new clubhouse energy, Mariano Rivera's 500th career save, Derek Jeter passing Lou Gehrig for most Yankee hits of all time, Melky Cabrera hitting for the cycle, and so much more, the Yankees were back in the world series to take on the Philadelphia Phillies, behind shutdown pitcher Cliff Lee, and offensive Juggernaut Chase Utley. Wednesday night was a victory in pure Yankee style, with Andy Pettitte picking up the win, and Mariano Rivera recording the final out. Hideki Matsui won the series MVP for his incredible game 6 hitting. And for the 27th time, the New York Yankees are WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!!!

YEAHHHHHH GOOO YANKEESSSS!! when i was growing up and i could understand major league baseball, my family would have on their yankees stuff so i joined along with them and started cheering for the yankees when i was 6 years old and i remember watching em win the world series in 96, 98, 99 and 2000... so waiting 9 years to see them win it, it felt like it was the first time to see them win it all over again!! GO YANKEES
