No, because "why" is asking for the reason for something. The reason for something is just the next element in the allegedly endless chain of cause and effect. However, if you don't think that this chain is endless then you MIGHT believe in a creator, though that's not the only possibility for an finite chain of cause and effect. You can also think that human counting does not apply to the chain or that our language isn't able to describe anything outside of human abstract concepts. And so on...

In what way is asking why remotely related to the existence of a creator?

This is pure stupidity, asking why is making the presupposition that there is purpose. Another cyclical argument, not surprising from the religious really.

By asking the question "why," you are assuming there is a creator. If there is no creator, there is no "why" question.

Nevermind bro, it's all ok. Take caution ppl, I'm an evil bastard and you're all fairies in a fairytale who would never harm anyone and were certainly born morally correct.

    1) where did i contradict myself?

    2) no you're right, it isn't empathetic to point out mentally unhealthy behavior. for it to be empathetic i would have to understand what it's like to be a sociopath. it is however moral to point it out so that other members of society can take caution.

As you just agreed to with my earlier comments, we form empathy over the years, over what we learn, how we learn to cope with people and situations, it all grows. I'd call it part of my believs, believs how to treat people and how not to treat them. Making them look like evil emotionless religious zombies is not very empathetic. I'm worse than a primitive animal right? Well not so much because as I've said I would be and it would be nasty, but I'm actually not, which was the whole point.

Ha! You just contradicted yourself. Thanks.

I'm not in question, I'm all nice and dandy here. The question is what are you hiding? Why are you part of the rest of them? What makes me so special? What's your issue anyway? I don't care what beliefs you hold and what beliefs you lack, why are you so focused on how I figure my shit out?

Nevermind thou, I don't even want to hear because I have my own stuff to deal with.

as for the last part, i don't even....

as for you not believing that empathy is an instinctual function, that's sort of scary since i assume the only evidence you would have to go on is your own experience.

lucky for the rest of us, normal, psychologically healthy kids begin to display empathetic behavior when they're around 2 years old. most of the neurological research done on this subject reveals that empathy is present in much more primitive animals. not sure what that says about you.

Don't worry I wont lose my belief system or if I ever did people like you would be the first to know.

In other words yes, I agree with you. I don't believe any human being "feels a psychologically INBORN sense of empathy for living things" which is a weird way to put it in the first place because you don't feel something that you are inborn with. It just is.
