My Jaw Surgery - From Underbite to Normal

This video shows my journey from underbite to an normal bite. It contains the whole process and compare before and after pictures. It took 2 years from start to finish, and I haven't ever regretted the decision. Thank you for comments!

Halla! Jeg skal gjennom samme operasjon i slutten av mars på Ullevål. Har underbitt, men må likevel operere opp og nede. Resultatet av operasjonen virket ganske bra for deg av det jeg kan se på videoen. Men hvordan er det med å drive med andre ting i den tidlige fasen etter operasjonen, tenker spesifikt på skolearbeid osv (går på BI Nydalen)? Har eksamen i mai, mens operasjonen som sagt er i mars, så er litt nervøs for om jeg vil klare å jobbe som normalt så kort tid etter operasjonen.

@OzzyJezzy Hei! Er fornøyd med resultatet ja. De første dagene etter at jeg var kom hjem fra sykehuset gjorde jeg lite. Etter en liten uke, begynte jeg så smått å øve til eksamen. Etter at det var gått over ei uke, begynte jeg på skolen igjen. Det var i November, skulle ha eksamen i Desember. Gikk fint :)

Was all of it worth it? Weren't there really any complications at all? Also, are you gonna wear a retainer now? Sorry for all the questions! I'm just really nervous because I have an underbite and I'm going to get braces soon and then after having them for a year and a half I will also undergo jaw surgery. Oh btw, how did you eat when your jaws were wired together? :0

@Kuddkriget The surgery took a bit longer than they expected, because they had to cut my jawbone higher up. I was not affected by it afterwards.

I'm sleeping with a retainer, to keep my teeths in place.

My surgery is tomorrow, they're doing top and bottom jaw, can't even comprehend what it will feel like to have my bottom teeth behind the front

@cheekymonkey2417 You ALWAYS have to wait longer than they say, i was in a similar position to you and they told me it would be two years of braces (which ended up turning into four years! :p) the braces straighten your teeth but they also move your jaw bones into the position that your orthodontist wants, so it just depends how well the bones develop. Deciding to have surgery is entirely upto you though, you should just decide how much you think you would benefit from the operation.

I'm 14 and have an underbite, I have been to the ortodontics twice and each time they told me to wait another year, I went recently and have to wait another six months. They offered jaw surgery but I turned it down, so hopefully I will be able to get braces before the summer. I have a crowded top jaw and have class3 teeth. They r all perfect shape and r white but I am still really scared even tho I know I hopefully won't have jaw surgery. I'm a girl btw, thanku for reading if u did :)

Wow!! I am so afraid to do it. Since I hadn't seen many videos or pictures about it I wondered if it was safe. How was recovery? Did it take a month? Did you feel anything? Was the pain tremendously scorching? You MUST tell me?! Lol I'm such a scary cat. ;)
